Privacy Policy
Verity (“we”, “us”) is operated by [Your company legal name, e.g. Verity Labs LLC]. This policy explains what we collect when you use Verity, why, who processes it, and the choices you have. We don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and we don't use tracking or advertising cookies.
What we collect
- Account: your email address, used to sign you in with a one-time code.
- Recordings: audio you record or upload (including the sound of videos you upload), stored privately in your account.
- Transcripts and analysis: the text of your conversations, speaker labels and any names you give speakers, statistics (like talking time and interruptions), fact-check results and their sources, contradictions, question tracking, and Verity Assist rephrasings.
- Consent records: for each conversation, that you confirmed everyone agreed to be recorded, when, and the wording you agreed to.
- Usage: counts such as minutes recorded and fact checks run, used to show your usage and, later, plan limits.
- Technical data: our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, device and browser type, and time of request) to operate and secure the service.
Stored only on your device
Some things stay in your browser and are never sent to us: your theme, whether you've seen the tutorial, whether spoken answers are on, and an unsaved recording in progress (kept so it isn't lost if the app reloads; deleted when you save or discard it). Sign-in uses essential cookies so you stay signed in. We use no analytics or advertising cookies.
How we use it
- To provide Verity: transcribe recordings, check claims, detect contradictions and dodged questions, and rephrase what you say.
- To keep your account secure and the service running.
- To communicate with you about your account (for example, sign-in codes and important changes).
We don't use your recordings or transcripts to train our own AI models, and we don't sell or “share” your personal information for advertising.
Who processes your data
We use service providers to run Verity. Each receives only what it needs, processes it to provide its service to us, and handles it under its own terms and privacy policy.
| Provider | What it does | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Accounts, database, and private audio storage | Email address, recordings, transcripts, analysis results |
| Vercel | Hosting the app | Requests to the app, including IP address and device information in server logs |
| AssemblyAI | Speech-to-text transcription | Audio while recording and saved recordings |
| Anthropic | AI analysis: finding claims, judging evidence, contradictions, questions, Verity Assist | Transcript text and claims |
| Exa | Searching the web for sources | The text of claims being checked |
| Deepgram | AI voice | The text Verity speaks aloud (results and rephrasings) |
| [Email provider] | Sending sign-in codes | Email address |
Your account data is stored in [Supabase project region, e.g. US East]. Providers may process data in the United States and other countries. See Service Providers for the current list.
People in your recordings
Recordings can include other people who don't have a Verity account. You're responsible for getting their consent (see Recording Consent). If you appear in someone's recording and want it addressed, contact us at [privacy@yourdomain.com].
How long we keep it
- Your conversations stay until you delete them. Deleting a conversation removes its audio, transcript, and every result from it.
- Deleting your account removes everything in it.
- Copies in backups are removed as those backups expire ([backup retention period]).
Your choices and rights
- Access and export: download all your data any time in Profile → Privacy & data.
- Correction: rename speakers and edit titles in the app, or contact us.
- Deletion: delete any conversation, or your whole account, in the app.
- Depending on where you live (for example, California or the European Economic Area/UK), you may have additional rights, such as to object to or restrict processing, or to complain to a data protection authority. Contact us to exercise them. We won't discriminate against you for using these rights.
Where the law requires a legal basis, we process your data to provide the service you asked for (performance of a contract) and for our legitimate interests in securing and improving it.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Recordings are stored privately and only you can access your conversations. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your data, we'll notify you as the law requires.
Children
Verity is not for anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used it, contact us and we'll delete the account.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll tell you in the app or by email before the change takes effect.
